Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions explain the rules for using Thoughtful Card Link, including accounts, AI-generated card artwork, artwork credits, one-off card payments, done-for-you card orders, published card links, and your responsibilities when using the service.

Who we are
Thoughtful Card Link is made and operated by JMartyn Digital.
You can contact us through the contact page.
What the app does
Thoughtful Card Link helps you create personalised digital greeting cards that can be shared with a link.
You can enter card details such as recipient name, occasion, message, theme, style words, and from name. You can also choose a written inside message or a video greeting inside the card.
The app can generate card-style artwork based on the details you provide.
You may also choose to upload an optional reference photo before generating artwork. This can help guide photo-inspired artwork, such as a general likeness, but results are illustrative and are not guaranteed to be an exact match.
The generated image is intended to be artwork/background only. The app places your exact card text on top of the artwork so names and messages remain readable.
Draft cards
Cards start as private drafts in your account.
Draft previews may include watermarks or other preview protections.
A draft card is not intended to be shared as a final public card.
Video greeting cards remain private until they are paid for and published.
Generated artwork
AI-generated artwork may vary between generations, even when using similar card details.
Generated artwork may not always match your exact expectations. You should review the card before paying, publishing, or sharing it.
Photo-guided artwork may be inspired by an uploaded reference photo, but it may not exactly match the person, expression, pose, clothing, appearance, or other details in the photo.
If you ask the AI to include text, numbers, labels, signs, names, slogans, or similar details inside the generated artwork itself, those details may not always be accurate, complete, or spelled correctly. Your main card text is added separately by the app to help keep it readable and accurate.
Artwork requests should describe general ideas, themes, colours, hobbies, moods, appearance details, and personal details rather than asking for exact brands, logos, famous characters, celebrities, sports teams, real kits, real uniforms, real product designs, or other protected material.
Our image generator may use your occasion, theme, style words, and other card details to create the artwork. If those details include specific protected names, brands, teams, characters, logos, or designs, artwork generation may be blocked and you may be asked to describe the idea more generally.
For example, you should write “football themed card with a blue kit” rather than asking for a specific football club kit, badge, player, or sponsor.
Artwork generation uses artwork credits. Your account may receive an initial artwork credit allowance. Each successful saved standard artwork generation usually uses 1 credit. Photo-guided artwork generation using an uploaded reference photo usually uses 2 credits.
Extra artwork credit top-ups may be available for £1.99, as shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
If you run out of artwork credits, you may need to publish a card or buy more artwork credits before generating more artwork.
When you successfully pay for and publish a card, your artwork credits may reset to the allowance shown in the app.
We may limit the number of artwork generations, artwork credits, or saved artwork cards per account to keep the service fair, reliable, and sustainable.
Failed artwork generations do not usually use an artwork credit where the image was not saved.
Reference photos
Reference photos are optional. You do not need to upload a reference photo to create a card.
If you upload a reference photo, you confirm that you own the photo or have permission to use it for photo-guided artwork generation.
If the photo shows a child, you confirm that you are their parent or guardian, or that you have permission from their parent or guardian to use the photo.
You must not upload reference photos that are illegal, abusive, explicit, hateful, threatening, harassing, exploitative, misleading, non-consensual, or harmful.
Reference photos may be sent securely from our server-side function to OpenAI for safety checking and artwork generation.
Our app does not save uploaded reference photos to your card or account. The photo is used for the generation request only. If generation succeeds, the generated artwork image may be saved to your card.
If a reference photo does not pass a safety check, generation may be blocked and you may be asked to choose a different photo.
Video greetings
Video greeting cards allow you to upload a video greeting to appear inside the card when it is opened.
By uploading a video, you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it.
You must not upload videos that are illegal, abusive, explicit, hateful, threatening, harassing, exploitative, misleading, or harmful.
You are responsible for the video content you upload and for making sure it is appropriate for the intended recipient.
We may remove video content, disable access to a card, suspend access, preserve evidence, or report serious abuse where required by law or where needed to protect the service, users, recipients, or others.
Video greeting cards are not searchable or browsable publicly through the app. A published video greeting card may still be viewed by anyone with its public card link.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for checking the card before publishing or sharing it.
This includes checking any optional text or details that appear inside the AI-generated artwork itself.
You should make sure the card message, recipient details, theme, artwork, uploaded reference photo, uploaded video greeting, and final public card are appropriate for the intended recipient.
You should only enter, upload, or publish information and content that you have permission to use.
You are responsible for making sure you have the rights or permission to use any specific names, brands, logos, characters, teams, people, designs, reference photos, videos, or other material you include in a card.
You should avoid entering or uploading unnecessary sensitive information about yourself or other people.
Accounts and sign-in
You may need an account to create, save, preview, generate, upload reference photos, upload video greetings, pay for, or publish cards in Thoughtful Card Link.
Thoughtful Card Link is intended for users aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, you should not create an account, make purchases, upload photos or videos, or publish cards unless a parent or guardian is involved.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for any activity that happens through your account.
You must provide accurate account information and should not allow anyone else to use your account.
Done-for-you card service
You may order a personalised digital card without creating an account by using our done-for-you card service.
The current done-for-you written card price is £4.99. The current done-for-you video greeting card price is £6.99. The price shown through Stripe Checkout is the price that applies to your purchase.
To use this service, you may provide card details through an agreed communication method, such as Facebook Messenger or email. These details may include the recipient name, occasion, card message, artwork ideas, style preferences, from name, and an optional reference photo or video greeting.
We will use the information you provide to create a draft card and send you a preview. You are responsible for reviewing the preview and checking names, messages, artwork, recipient details, and other card content before approving it.
Payment is requested only after you confirm that you are happy with the preview. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.
By approving the preview and completing payment, you confirm that the card can be published, supplied, and made available through its private shareable card link without delay.
The finished product is a personalised digital greeting card supplied through a shareable link. It is not a printed or physically delivered card.
Because the card is personalised and is supplied after you approve the preview, payments are not normally refundable once the finished card has been published, supplied, accessed, or made available through its card link. This does not affect your statutory rights where the service is faulty, not as described, or a refund is otherwise required by law.
You confirm that the information, messages, names, photos, videos, and other content you provide are lawful and that you own them or have permission to use them.
If you provide a photo showing a child, you confirm that you are their parent or guardian, or that you have permission from their parent or guardian to use the photo.
Optional reference photos are used only to assist with safety checking and photo-guided artwork generation. We do not intentionally download or save a separate copy of the reference photo to your card, an app account, or our own permanent file storage.
A reference photo may be sent securely to OpenAI through its API for safety checking and artwork generation. OpenAI processes that information under its own applicable terms, privacy information, and data controls.
The communication service used to send the reference photo, such as Facebook Messenger or email, may retain the original message or attachment according to that provider’s own policies.
If artwork generation succeeds, the generated artwork may be saved as part of the finished card. The original reference photo is not published as part of the card unless you separately ask us to include it and we agree to do so.
If you order a video greeting card, the video you provide may be uploaded and stored as part of the published card so that it can be played by people who have the card link.
We may refuse or stop work on a card that contains unlawful, abusive, harmful, explicit, exploitative, infringing, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate content.
Payments, publishing, and refunds
Publishing a self-service card requires a one-off payment. The current standard written card publishing price is £2.99, and the current video greeting card publishing price is £4.99, as shown on the pricing page.
Done-for-you cards are priced separately because they include manual card creation. The current done-for-you written card price is £4.99, and the current done-for-you video greeting card price is £6.99.
Prices may change from time to time. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies to that purchase.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our own systems.
Payment is per card. This is not a subscription and does not unlock unlimited published cards.
For self-service cards, once payment is confirmed, your personalised digital card may be published and the public card link may become available immediately.
For done-for-you cards, payment is normally requested after you have reviewed and approved the preview. By approving the preview and completing payment, you agree that the finished digital card can be published and supplied without delay.
Because each published card is personalised digital content, payments are non-refundable once the card has been published, supplied, accessed, or made available through its card link, unless the card is faulty, not as described, or we are required by law to provide a refund.
If something goes wrong and your card is not published or supplied after a successful payment, please contact us so we can either fix the issue or provide an appropriate refund.
Unused artwork credit purchases can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Artwork credits that have already been used to generate artwork are non-refundable, unless the generation failed, the service was faulty, or we are required by law to provide a refund.
Your statutory rights are not affected by these Terms.
Published card availability
Published cards do not currently have a fixed expiry date and may remain available for an extended period.
We do not, however, guarantee permanent or indefinite hosting of a published card or its public card link.
We may remove older or inactive cards and associated generated artwork or uploaded video where reasonably necessary for storage, security, technical, legal, or operational reasons.
Where reasonably practicable, we will aim to give advance notice before removing a published card for routine storage or service-management reasons.
You should not rely on a published card link as permanent storage for messages, artwork, photos, or videos that you wish to keep indefinitely.
You may ask us to delete a card earlier. Some related account, payment, security, or business records may still need to be retained where required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or record-keeping purposes.
Pricing
The current standard written card publishing price is £2.99, as shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
The current video greeting card publishing price is £4.99, as shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
The current artwork credit top-up price is £1.99, as shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
Prices may change from time to time. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies to that purchase.
Published cards and public links
After a card is paid for and published, the public card link becomes available.
Anyone with the public card link may be able to view the published card, including any written inside message or uploaded video greeting inside it.
You should only publish and share a card if you are happy for the recipient or anyone with the link to view it.
Published cards may be locked so the same paid card cannot be repeatedly edited and reused for different recipients.
Moderation and safety checks
We may use automated checks, including AI moderation, to help prevent unsafe, illegal, harmful, inappropriate, or obviously protected-material card artwork requests.
If you upload an optional reference photo, it may also be checked before artwork generation.
If a card idea, reference photo, or generation request does not pass a safety check or artwork check, artwork generation may be blocked.
Automated checks are not perfect and do not remove your responsibility for the card details, uploaded content, and content you enter, generate, publish, or share.
Uploaded videos may not be manually reviewed before publishing.
We may refuse, block, remove, suspend, or restrict content or accounts where we believe the app is being misused.
We may cooperate with authorities where required by law or where needed to respond to serious abuse.
Refunds
Because Thoughtful Card Link provides digital card publishing and the public card link can be made available shortly after payment, refunds are not usually provided once a card has been paid for and published, unless required by law or agreed by us.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
Acceptable use
You must not use Thoughtful Card Link to:
- break the law or encourage unlawful behaviour;
- create, request, upload, publish, or share abusive, hateful, sexual, exploitative, threatening, harassing, misleading, or harmful content;
- try to generate illegal, unsafe, violent, explicit, or otherwise inappropriate artwork;

- upload or use a photo of a child unless you are their parent or guardian, or you have permission from their parent or guardian;
- enter unnecessary sensitive information about yourself or other people;
- request, generate, upload, publish, or share content that infringes someone else’s rights, privacy, copyright, trade mark, design rights, image rights, or other intellectual property;

- use the app to impersonate someone or mislead a recipient;
- try to access another user's account, cards, artwork, files, or data;
- use the app as general file hosting, image hosting, or video hosting;

Availability
We aim to keep Thoughtful Card Link available and working properly, but we cannot guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
We may need to update, maintain, change, suspend, or remove parts of the app from time to time.
Expiry, deletion, and storage
Cards, artwork, uploaded video greetings, and related files may be stored for as long as needed to provide the service, keep records, manage payment history, and meet legal or accounting requirements.
Uploaded reference photos are not saved to your card or account by our app, but the generated artwork may be saved if generation succeeds.
In future, published cards may expire or be deleted after a period of time. If expiry or deletion rules are introduced, they will be explained in the app where relevant.
Uploaded video greetings may have stricter limits, expiry rules, and pricing because they use more storage and bandwidth.
Data and privacy
How we collect, use, and protect personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
You should only enter information, messages, themes, images, videos, reference photos, or other content that you have permission to use.
Optional reference photos are used for safety checking and photo-guided artwork generation. They are not saved to your card or account by our app, but the generated artwork image may be saved to your card if generation succeeds.
Intellectual property
The app, website, design, branding, layout, code, and original content belong to us or our licensors.
You keep ownership of the card details, messages, names, themes, uploaded videos, reference photos, and other content you enter or upload, as far as you have rights in that content.
As between you and us, you may use the card artwork generated for your card for personal sharing, subject to these Terms.
You give us permission to store, process, display, publish, and share your card content, uploaded video greetings, and generated artwork as needed to provide the service, including public card links.
You give us permission to process optional reference photos as needed for safety checking and photo-guided artwork generation, but our app does not save those reference photos to your card or account.
Generated artwork may be created using third-party AI services, may not be unique to you, and similar artwork may be generated for other users.
You must not use Thoughtful Card Link to request, generate, upload, publish, or share content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trade mark, design rights, privacy rights, image rights, or other intellectual property rights.
You must not use the app to create cards that copy or imitate specific protected brands, logos, famous characters, celebrities, sports teams, real kits, real uniforms, real product designs, or other protected material unless you have the rights or permission to do so.
We may use automated checks to detect obvious requests for protected material, but these checks are not perfect and do not remove your responsibility for what you enter, generate, publish, or share.
If we receive a complaint or believe a card may infringe someone else’s rights, we may remove, unpublish, restrict access to, or disable the card while we review it.
You must not copy, resell, reproduce, reverse engineer, or create a competing product from the app itself.
Limitation of liability
Thoughtful Card Link is provided to help create digital greeting cards. It does not replace your own judgement about whether a card is appropriate to publish or share.
We are not responsible for messages, artwork requests, uploaded reference photos, uploaded videos, recipient reactions, or sharing decisions made by you.
We are not responsible for loss caused by using the app in a way that is unlawful, inappropriate, unauthorised, or outside its intended purpose.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
Ending access
We may suspend or end access to Thoughtful Card Link if you break these Terms, misuse the app, fail to pay where payment is required, or create a risk to the app, other users, recipients, or our business.
You can stop using the app at any time. You can also contact us if you want to request account deletion.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make important changes, we will update the date on this page.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
